Vengeful Vibes and Holding Grudges Alter Your Energy. Let’s discuss the negative impacts of holding onto grudges and resentment, both physically and mentally. As a psychic healer and retired nurse, I know how high-stress levels can break down the body. Resentment held as long-term grudges is linked to increased stress hormones, weakened immunity, and mental health issues. Let me reemphasize the importance of allowing anger to flow freely rather than suppressing it. Think of the energy of anger similar to the color of red robes, of a stained glass cloak in a church scene. This incredible red becomes almost sacred when the light of the sun illuminates it. This is exactly what the energy of anger can appear like when flowing through your emotional chakra and body. Allowing healthy anger energy to flow through your human energy field can assist you to blast through those stuck resentments. Forgiveness dissolves negative energy, like a solvent dissolves paint or glue. Forgiveness is a frequency, a quantum frequency that is more about the healing sounds that move through old stuck resentments, old grudges and vengeful thinking that you may hold deep within you. It is less about actually thinking about forgiving a particular person, although that may come later, and is more about just dissolving the stuck sticky energy. Releasing the old energy, brings a greater flexibility to your own life again, enabling you to open to new opportunities for happiness.
Releasing resentment can restore spiritual connection and improve overall well-being. Easier said than done for sure, but once you experience the personal relief from letting go of those nagging grudges you will know what true freedom feels like. You have your stories, your right to feel vengeful stories that are so painful, that anyone hearing them would join you in grabbing a shovel to bury them once and for all. I have a story that would curl your hair. Where you just might ask me, how did you ever get on the other side of that one? Personally it required a deep search into the trust and faith bucket that there is a higher power taking care of the situation, and I just need to take care of me. My faith was challenged on mulitiple occasions, over 14 years of observing the unforgiveable person being happiest knowing they had destroyed a family. One more time in a court of law (just this past summer), the truth finally came out and justice was served. Letting go of resentments, did become easier with time and practice. It can for you as well.
Is there a secret to letting go of resentment, grudges and vengeful thinking? Let me share what wisdom was gained through my own experience and if you can find nuggets of gold in them, then I am happy to share.
Refocusing the Direction of your attention – When you continue to think about how is it possible that this person is getting away with this, strong emotions can have you questioning their right to live a happy life. Wishing that somehow, if they just went away, you could finally be happy again. You must refocus on a next step of moving forward for you. Even if it is washing dishes, cleaning out closets, or reorganizing your photo albums.
Choose an activity that gets you into the present moment, ASAP – If your thoughts are becoming so obsessive that it is crippling your ability to function, then I suggest you go for a strenuous hike. A gentle walk, may not be enough to shift your over mental thinking. A strenuous hike, demands that you focus on the next step so you do not stumble. Snow shoeing, demands that you focus on picking your snowshoe up and placing it in the next position of focus and stability. Bowling, forces you to focus on the pins, dancing to the sound of music, blocks out obsessive thoughts, or painting captures your creative thoughts overriding the stuck thoughts.
Journaling your thoughts onto paper – The Artist Way, by Julie Cameron teaches a technique called morning pages. She created this technique to help her with her obsessive thoughts that wanted a drink of alcohol. You pour out onto the paper, every single thought that is packed in your mind that is locking up your ability to relax in the moment. You do this every morning, or when ever you wish to unload those building resentments.
Meditation – Can be a bit more of a challenge, when those vengeful thoughts continue to overtake your peace of mind. Starting first with physical activity first, then going into meditation can help you to override the stinking thinking.
Step out of isolation – When resentful, it is easy to isolate so you do not spoil others happiness can cause you to pull away and be alone. Let your friends know that you are feeling a bit stuck and wish to meet for coffee. I have asked friends to tell me all about their life and what is going on for them. In the process of listening, I break the cycle of my own obsessive thoughts.
Talk Therapy – offers a way to bounce some of those thoughts off a skilled professional that can help you understand some of your thoughts and often find underlying triggers that block you from moving on with your life. Painful events often do not have a satisfying outcome. A skilled therapist can help you to feel like you can live your own life again.
Body work – Old resentments, grudges and vengeful energy can get stuck in the energy field but also cause your muscles to stiffen and your joints to hurt. Make an appointment for self care, so a skilled body worker can help you release those stuck places enhancing physical flexiblity.
Trust your intuitive guidance – Let yourself know what you need and take action.
