Can Skeptics be Psychics?
Can skeptics be psychic is a real question that requires some real conversation. Welcome to my blog! If you’re new here, I’m Nancy, and today we’re diving into a fascinating topic: Can skeptics be psychics? It’s a question that delves into the balance between critical thinking and open-mindedness. For those of you who consider yourselves skeptics, or for those who love someone who is highly skeptical, this one’s for you. So, let’s get started!
First, a little about me. I’m a psychic, which means I can see the human energy field and perceive things beyond the typical five senses. But despite my abilities, I maintain a healthy level of skepticism. This skepticism keeps me grounded and helps me discern the real from the imaginary. It’s a delicate balance: I question what I see and experience while remaining open to the possibilities. Read Psychology Today on Healthy Skepticism.
The Skeptic’s Dilemma
Skeptics often face a dilemma: How do you stay open-minded without losing your critical edge? How do you balance being cautious with being open to new experiences? This is especially challenging in the realm of psychic phenomena, which can seem far-fetched to the rational mind.
For many skeptics, the fear of the unknown is a significant barrier. It’s not just about disbelief; it’s about fear of what might happen if they accept something that seems illogical. This fear can manifest as a rigid stance against anything that doesn’t fit their current understanding of the world.
Personal Experiences with Skeptics
I’ve had numerous encounters with skeptics over the years. One memorable instance was when a friend offered to let me share my experiences with them. They seemed open at first, but five minutes into the conversation, they asked me to stop. They preferred to stay in their “naive world,” where such things didn’t exist. This experience highlighted how deeply fear can influence skepticism.
I’ve also worked with many clients who were brought in by their spouses. Often, these spouses were skeptical but wanted to understand why their partner was so enthusiastic about psychic readings. In some cases, they came in with open minds and left feeling enlightened. In others, the skepticism was so strong that it was like hitting a brick wall.
Hardcore Skeptics
When I encounter a hardcore skeptic, it’s like facing a mental fortress. These individuals come in with a rigid mindset, arms metaphorically crossed, and a refusal to accept anything outside their belief system. It’s challenging but also intriguing.
For example, one man came to see me at his wife’s insistence. He was polite but clearly skeptical. Throughout the session, he remained stoic. At the end, he admitted it was the best thing he’d ever missed a golf game for. He didn’t become a regular client, but he appreciated the experience and understood his wife’s perspective better.
Programmability Gauge
Before I start a psychic spiritual reading, I assess a person’s “programmability” – their openness to new information. This helps me tailor my approach. If someone is 100% open, I proceed with caution to avoid overwhelming them or providing information that might override their ability to be discerning for themselves. If they’re 0% open, it might not be worth proceeding at all.
I find that most people fall somewhere in the middle. They have a healthy skepticism that allows them to question and discern without outright rejecting new ideas. This balance is crucial for personal growth and understanding.
Are Men More Skeptical?
Skepticism isn’t confined to one gender. Both men and women can be equally skeptical, especially if their partner’s spiritual journey makes them uncomfortable. It’s often fear of the unknown and a desire to protect their worldview that fuels this skepticism.
Can Skeptics Be Psychics?
Now, to the big question: Can skeptics be psychics? Based on my experience, the answer is a resounding yes. Many skeptics have incredible psychic potential. Their skepticism often stems from fear or past trauma, but once they begin to dismantle that fear, their abilities can shine through.
For instance, some skeptics may have been highly intuitive as children but shut down their abilities due to societal or familial pressure. When they start to explore and trust their intuition again, they can become remarkably gifted psychics.
My Own Skepticism
I wasn’t always a believer in psychic phenomena. I remember telling a psychic that I didn’t believe in psychic readings. Fast forward to today, and it’s now my full-time profession. I allowed myself to be open-minded to new potential possibilities. My journey from skepticism to acceptance was gradual and involved a lot of personal experiences that couldn’t be explained away. I still consider skepticism one of my best discerning qualities that guide me in making my own best decisions.
A Fun Story: Ancient Aliens
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I discovered the show “Ancient Aliens.” Despite my initial skepticism about some of their claims, I found the show fascinating. It opened my mind to new possibilities and led me to attend PhenomeCon in Utah, an event dedicated to exploring paranormal phenomena.
Surprisingly, many attendees who believe in aliens and other phenomena were skeptical about psychics. This irony highlights how everyone has their blind spots and areas where they’re more or less open-minded. Challenge your skepticism on my blog titled, Unlocking Cosmic Prophecy.
Finding Balance
We all have our blind spots and biases. The key is to find a balance between critical thinking and open-mindedness. I encourage you to examine your own skepticism. What are you skeptical about? Are there areas where you could be more open-minded?
Conclusion
In conclusion, skeptics can absolutely be psychics. It’s often a matter of overcoming fear and past conditioning to embrace their intuitive abilities. Whether you’re a skeptic yourself or know someone who is, remember that skepticism is a natural part of the journey. Embrace it, question it, and allow yourself to explore new possibilities.

Interesting !!
lately I have been engaging and feeling the need to surrender. And that is a huge thing for me, considering the fact that I tend to fear loosing control.
what a paradox, isn’t it?And with that feeling of surrender – when I always want to fall flat on my back on the bed or grass – I also feel the need to express words regarding my awareness of skepticism and resistance in me that is blocking me.
so I really do appreciate your input, to help me understand and appreciate the true quality of skepticism
Your welcome.
I’ve had multiple psychic experiences. They started around 1987 and ended about 1998. Now I’m old and I just don’t care. I don’t see any point at my age
Love it. I had strong Psychic experiences in the beginning and slowly integrated them as natural. I agree ….getting older allows me to let so many things fall by the wayside.
Nancy! This is so brilliant, as always. I love your offerings – they are really helping so many people.
Just one thing – when did you Americans decide to start spelling sceptic / sceptical with a K???
What is that all about?
It jangles my nerves…
I’m sure it’s always been a C until recently (I’m 69 so recently to me may be 20 years….😅)I guess I need to get over it, huh?
Doesn’t change the message and still sounds the same in the video! 😅Blessings,

Here you go June. I never knew it was an issue. Now we both know why. A short video explains it here.
I love this video. I consider myself open-minded, however, you forced me to think of aspects of my life where I am skeptical. If something does not feel true, my body reacts. Not sure if this is intuition or body intelligence. Or, maybe it’s all part of the same process. Either way, developing a “sensor” is helpful in discerning information. Thank you Nancy! Your videos are the best!
Thank you Anne.
I personally, am a skeptical psychic, have been my whole life… it truly is a struggle!!! I was born with most… if not all of the claires, yet between Organized Religion, my family, and society I admit I would get an “Exceeds All Expectations” when it comes to being one. I am aware that my ‘gifts’ are strong, and yet I still struggle… happy to share I am working on it though!!! =-)
Its a great quality to have as a Psychic. It means you do not just tell someone something without putting the information through your vetting filters first.
